Gordonians Cricket Club Gordonians 1st XI v Stoneywood Dyce on Sat 06 Aug 2016 at 13.00
Gordonians Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report 10 man Stoneywood won the toss and elected to bat. It was welcome back to Sree as Forbes got him stretching for 4 wides in the 1st over. Krutik settled on to a steady line and Ninan and Arnold found runs hard to come by. The dots were piling up before Ninan snicked behind off KP for 2. 6 overs later and Arnold checked a drive off KP and gave Dalgarno a straight forward catch at mid off, gone for 5. Marc Jones came on and bowled a miserly 9 over spell, conceding only 15 runs, and being very unlucky not to take a wicket as a sleepy performance in the field seemed to result in the ball dropping close to fielders all too often. At the other end Stuart got punished every time he dropped short and went for 25 runs off his 5 overs. Rayner and Louw put on a necessary, but far from fluent 59, before Sree took a good catch behind off Himanshu to remove Louw for 28. Rayner followed next over for 31 and a prolonged period of dots ensued before Himanshu bowled Lambley and Freeman in quick succession. KP resorted to spin and a double wicket maiden brought the innings to an end on 110. KP finished with 4 for 7 and Himanshu 3 for 17 as Stoneywood made pedestrian progress that perhaps contributed to a lack of energy in the field from Gordonians.
Stoneywood opened the bowling with Ninan and Freeman, both getting movement from the new ball and requiring a watchful start from Debo and Aman. An early period of accumulation was soon followed by an increase in the run rate and it was a bit of a surprise when Debo got his feet in the wrong place to be LBW to Ninan for 9. Sree was pushed up the order and rattled up a quickfire 17 before Louw sneaked one on to his stumps, the score now on 54 off 11 overs. KP watched a few and then delved in to his repertoire of shots making it look easy. At the other end Arora had begun to accelerate and runs flowed quickly as the game was brought to a conclusion in the 20th over, Kidd having Arora dropped behind to continue his dearth of wickets, and add another 13 runs to his bowling average. Arora was 44 not out making it a cumulative 191 not out against Stoneywood for the season. KP was unbeaten on 30, and as the players tidied up, the rain started.
