Match report Glasgow Accies got off to a great start on a quick and bouncy wicket with Andrew and Malik putting quick runs on the board before Phani, and then Rahul, made breakthroughs. Then came the surprise intervention of Indy, who exploited the conditions and his lively medium quick stuff had Accies in all sorts of trouble. His figures of 8 overs, 5 for 13, were a real bonus, and when Aman came back for a 2nd spell, he took 2 quick wickets to close the Accies innings early for 141. A great effort, but the 36 wides out of an extras total of 47 would come back to haunt Gordos.
No time for complacency to set in as the Accies opening bowlers ripped the Gordos top 4 out in the first 20 balls. Shah was almost unplayable as he sent Jason back 2nd ball and then Aman 3rd ball, Indy surviving the hat trick. His next over sent Karan back as his feet got stuck on the crease to an in cutter. Andrew was getting quick bounce and enduced a top edge snick on to Indys helmet which was comfortably caught at square leg. Indy wasn't impressed by the decision and his helmet took quite a beating as he smouldered back to the sidelines, giving the umpires some paperwork to fill out a report. Rahul and Phani then made batting look much easier as they both scored 24 before being out. Ash, Mayank and Nipun all put up good resistance but none could kick on to a match winning score as Shah belatedly came back on to claim the last 2 wickets and his 5 for 17. Gordos were all out for 119 with plenty overs to spare and were left to rue their profligate concession of wides.
