Match report On paper, Gordonians took a useful side down to play Dalnacraig. In terms of papers, the bowling was Financial Times/Independent quality, the batting was more Sunday Sport used fish and chip paper standard.
Rohit and Darri formed a formidable opening bowling pair, Darri taking 2 for 30 from his 8 overs, whilst Rohit kept it tight at the other end. The Dolmanator bowled 6 wicketless overs, but evidently created the pressure that allowed Jonesy to pick up 4 for 28. Dan the Man took 2 for 21 off 7 and Josh Mountford polished off the tail with 2 for 14. Dalnacraig were all out for 149 off 36 overs, a good bowling effort, considering the experience of some of the Dalnacraig batsmen.
Having done the hard work, it was time for a bit of batting practice, but the first 7 obviously didn't feel it fair to monopolise things, getting out for 3,7,1,1,0,1 and 0. This set the stage for the Dolmanator and Jonesy to show them that a modicum of skill and a bit of application could still save face. They put on 12 apiece and Josh was left 6 not out as we crumbled to a paltry 67 all out, thanks in part to 21 extras. We did bat for 33 overs, so at least the Dalnacraig guys got a bit of bowling, particularly 2 guys who bowled 9 overs each, when the maximum permissable was 8.
