Arbroath v Gordonians Cricket Club Gordonians 1st XI on Sat 24 Aug 2013 at 13.00
Match was Abandoned

Match report The match started without a neutral umpire, with Peter Redhead being called in to National League action at the last minute. The weather forecast had been variable but play got under way with Gordonians batting. It was a bit of a surprise when Fleming didn't open the bowling but Hurst proved a challenging proposition, regularly beating the edge and slamming the ball in to the pads more than once. At the other end Ross wasn't quite so accurate and Dev smacked a couple of boundaries from his 2nd over. Arora played watchfully and kept the scoreboard ticking. It was a bit of a surprise when Dev was bowled in the 18th over for 20 with the score on 43. This spurred Arora in to action and a flurry of boundaries followed. Having cracked 10 off the first 3 balls of a Fleming over it was a real blow when he fell for 41. This brought Stark to the crease and he took a fancy to the bowling of Carnegie who soon had to push the field back to try to cut off the familiar boundary shots from Stark. With the score on 94 for 2, the steady drizzle was making the outfield greasy and the teams took an early tea. Whilst Gordonians were keen to resume, the outfield remained distinctly greasy and play was abandoned.
