Match report Gordonians were slightly below strength but this was more than made up for with the Caley boys not having any personnel from Huntly. In theory this should have been a comfortable 25 points but things started to go wrong very quickly and then deteriorated. Jason, Indy and Karan could only muster 1 between them and Mathi scored 30 before being bowled by Tom Diamond. Mayank was run out for 24 and Phani made a respectable 60. Rahul was also bowled by Diamond for only 2 and when Nipun fell for 8, it was left to Ash to take control and bat out the overs. Having been warned for running down the wicket, he promptly did it again and 5 penalty runs accrued. To compound matters he threw his bat to the ground and was put on report. To make things worse he was out to a suicide run and the scoring petered out as Gordonians batted out the 45 overs with 9 down and only 167 on the board.
In theory this should have been enough but dropped catches and cumulative wides were stacking up. Penman scored freely off Rohit and Phani eventually out for 71, at which point Gordonians looked in charge. Hiru picked up 3 wickets and Indy 2, but Taylor and Diamond in particular, battoned down the hatches. Taylor was having a problem with anything short as he didn't have the power or technique to pull a boundary. It was a bit of a surprise that Gordonians couldn't get a fielder in the right place to exploit this and Taylor was 12 not out as Caley won with 2 wickets and 6.2 overs in hand.
