AGM NEWS

03 Dec 2016

The club AGM held at the Seafield Club produced a positive, constructive debate in these challenging times for our game. There is continuity heading in to 2017 in terms of our Hon Pres John McHardy, Pres Andy Lowden, Secretary Paul Gray and Treasurer George Bews. Aman Arora is our new 1stXI captain, Grade captains are TBC and Jamie McCabe continues as Sunday XI captain. Further members of the Exec Committee will be co-opted through the winter. New honorary vice presidents were nominated as we noted the passing of 3 former players/VP's. Competitions to be entered were decided and ACA and SPCU rule changes debated. There were positive plans around improving net practice and social & fund raising activity. Sponsorship was high on the agenda. The clubs finances are well managed by our Treasurer although collection of overdue subs will be addressed. There are already a couple of new players in the pipeline but active recruitment is a priority. The closing message was "We are the most successful cricket club in the north east, the bar has been set high, we have fantastic facilities and a strong junior section, the economy is challenging, put cricket and the club first, be positive heading in to the new season. Leadership and hard work and focus on juniors by everyone will be important.''
