Welcome to Arrowdawn Gordonians Cricket Club website.
The club, founded in 1924 by former pupils of Robert Gordon’s College (RGC), has a long and proud history in Aberdeen and North-east cricket, providing opportunities to train and play for all ages and abilities.
The club currently fields five competitive teams at a range of levels. Our first XI play in the Premier Division of the Strathmore & Perthshire Cricket Union (SPCU). We also field three sides in the local Aberdeenshire Grade leagues as well as a Sunday team in the SPCU Division 2 North. We are fortunate to be able to offer fantastic facilities at RGC’s Countesswells playing fields, offering grass and artificial pitches and three practice nets as well as indoor training facilities at Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Garthdee campus.
We have recently set up a junior section, giving youngsters ECB qualified coaching and a chance to learn the game.
We have a partnership established with our sponsor Arrowdawn Limited that has helped us retain our New Zealand professional player/coach, James Cowell, for season 2013.
The club also has a partnership with RGU’s Cricket Club whereby we share facilities and provide the students a home to play regular cricket throughout the season.
We have a strategic plan with a vision and objectives aligned to Cricket Scotland’s Top Club accreditation process. Our ambition going forward is to establish a team in the National Leagues as well as promotion within the local set up, whilst continuing to play the game hard, fair and having fun. We will also strive to increase cricket participation in Aberdeen.
We are a friendly, open, inclusive club, are always looking for new players at any level or age, and can offer the best of facilities and training for anyone wishing to join. Please contact our secretary for more information.
