As Gordos beat Forthill with tight performance led by Coel Mahoney

Following on from the opening victory against Strathmore, Gordos travelled to Dundee to face Forthill.

Winning the toss, Gordonians chose to bowl on an interesting looking wicket (hard at both ends with a soggy bit in the middle).

As per the week before, James Cowell didnt hang about before getting in on the act by removing Garden for 4 in just the third over. Gordos kept the runs tight and good work from Mayank Bhandari at point had Tosh run out for just 1 leaving the score at 20 for 2.

Gordos maintaned to keep the runs down but never made a further breakthrough until the 18th over when that sly old silver fox Pettitt had McCandless caught by Mehta for 23. Coel Mahoney then removed Petrie for 1 in the next over when Selkirk juggled one at mid off, score 56 for 4.

Mahoney then removed Cameron for 15 in his next over. Gordos maintained the pressure throughout the innings and the sixth wicket fell when more good work from Bhandari led to the run out of L Garden for a duck.

Prattipatti then removed Hill for 2 before Senior Jones picked up two wickets in four balls to finish the innings off. Forthill all out for 87.

After a cracking tea, the Gordos innings was started by Selkirk and Yahathugoda, however Selkirk chipped one to mid off in the fourth over without score. Meanwhile at the other end Yahathugoda was looking to be as positive as ever and was putting the bad balls away before he fell to Garden for 16.

Mehta and Bhandari began the re building job before Mehta swept one straight to the boundary fielder at square leg off the bowling of Walker for 8 to leave Gordos 32 for 3.

Prattipatti replaced Mehta but it wasnt long before Bhandari fell, again to the bowling of Garden for just 5.

Mahoney was the next an in and along with Prattipatti batted well at took the score to 67 before Prattipatti was given out LBW for 14.

James Cowell joined fellow kiwi Mahoney at the crease and between them kocked off the remaining runs to earn Gordos a good five wicket win.
