Match report This match was to set the pattern for the rest of the season. Missed chances, wayward bowling and then batsmen getting out once they seemed settled. To add to those, Pro Cowell began with his injury problems, and the recently retired Pettitt was sorely missed as the other bowlers couldn't stem the flow of runs. Rain intervened with 10 overs of Gordonians batting left, but it was a heavy defeat. The Huntly score was built around 81 from their Overseas Amateur Brooks who rarely looked convincing, and 51 from the talented Ferguson. Cowell reverted to spin bowling after straining his back, and took 3 caught and bowleds, but the scoreboard was already stacked in Huntlys favour by then.
